Age requirement to applying?

Active Member IMAT

Hi all,

Is there an age preference/requirement in applying to Italian Med Schools?  Do you personally know any students in your school of say, age >30?  Preferential treatment for students fresh out of high school, is a reality, at least in my country. In terms of IMAT, I heard they will take the younger test taker if the test scores are tied. I’m aiming for southern universities such as Bari/Messina.  Can someone please inform me of the realities in age preference/requirement? Thank you!

**The same question was asked in Discord and I received a helpful input that there are students who are of age >50.  Appreciate to hear a wide range of answers from those of any Italian University.

Some universities will "Take" the younger candidate in cases of a draw, and you can׳t apply to live in dorms. Other than these minor things I didn׳t hear about any other restrictions from the students that are 30+.
